Brisbane, Australia
My studio is located in Brisbane, Australia. For the past 10 years I’ve been enjoying creating jewellery designs from an array of mundane materials. Tupperware and knitting needles have remained a firm favourite. My designs have been published numerous times, graced the shelves of many wonderful galleries and stores and been worn by those whose aren’t afraid of colour and attention. All of which I am very grateful for. For several years I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with many businesses as a coach and workshop facilitator.

Everything I know I learnt from T.V

Project Runway is my bible.

For those unfamiliar with the foxtel reality (?) show, it involved a group of up-and-coming fashion designers who compete against each other each week to best meet the various design challenges and stay in the show. Winner gets rewarded, loser goes home. It involves an awe inspiring talented group who are judged by leading fashion designers, stylists and decision-makers. It is filmed at the Parsons school of design in New York - so it has cred (I think).

It has so many lessons for us all - 1. Don't say you're not good enough - someone (important) might agree 2. By saying you're not good enough, you're not good enough. 3. Have a clear vision 4. Express that vision clearly 5. Compromise, but never compromise.

Can't wait for next week...
