My studio is located in Brisbane, Australia. For the past 10 years I’ve been enjoying creating jewellery designs from an array of mundane materials. Tupperware and knitting needles have remained a firm favourite. My designs have been published numerous times, graced the shelves of many wonderful galleries and stores and been worn by those whose aren’t afraid of colour and attention. All of which I am very grateful for. For several years I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with many businesses as a coach and workshop facilitator.

Little People

I generally don't do figurative work although I am usually drawn to the work of those that do.

Last week I made a number of earrings all with little boy and girl figures on them. As I finished a pair I lined them up on my bench. As their numbers grew I soon had the uncomfortable feeling that they were all staring back at me. In fact they were really starting to creep me out! They then soon found their way to the draw hidden from view and from viewing me.

Perhaps I should just stick with floral and abstract designs.

The fact that they look at you is the good bit. They are your little friends!! Now they're all stuffed into some dark little draw, how mean! Still, they will find homes where they will be loved. Jack and Jill will appreciate their new friends all the more I think.
