It seems like forever since I have made anything besides Knitwit bangles and Measure-up brooches! On the weekend I gave myself permission to play, and after a fair amount of frustration there was some success and a couple of twisted knitting needle rings. More rings will follow...

Have you thought of making (very) large rings out of knitting needles which you can then use for bag handles?
