- My studio is located in Brisbane, Australia. For the past 10 years I’ve been enjoying creating jewellery designs from an array of mundane materials. Tupperware and knitting needles have remained a firm favourite. My designs have been published numerous times, graced the shelves of many wonderful galleries and stores and been worn by those whose aren’t afraid of colour and attention. All of which I am very grateful for. For several years I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with many businesses as a coach and workshop facilitator.

I LOVE TV
I love TV. Well that's no surprise, if you know me or read my blog. My kids love TV too. Once again no surprise there. My brother makes TV. A fact that REALLY impresses my kids. It just doesn't matter how many images of my work are published, or what 'fabulous' new creations I may come up with, I'll never beat my brother in my children's eyes. TV rules - OK!
Well I don't make TV but being on TV may be the next best thing. As far as my kids are concerned anyway. Today I had a camera pointed at me, and the stuff I make, for about three hours. Fun stuff - no! But the crew were nice. Anyway I always say yes to publicity because it's central to developing a profile. Though I often freak out about the reality of it afterwards. Putting yourself out there in front of the media is just part of the deal. I think I don't always have to like it, but I do have to do it.
It does help having an editor in the family. I sort of focus on that process during interviews. I know a 3 hour shoot is going to end up as 4/5 minutes of actual footage. I guess I have to do or say something watchable during that time. Right? Although in TV land 4/5 minutes is a rather long time...!

Congrats on the TV coverage - please let us know when you're going to air (hope we haven't missed it already)!
Yeah, the publicity / media stuff is scary - I shy away from it, I admit, and probably miss out on opportunities as a result :/
Practice makes perfect, or something like that. I agree it is pretty scary.
I'll let you know. You are sweet for asking!
